Young Cadre Of Oasis Getting Their Leadership Training This Summer

Memorable & Life Changing Experience for Girls &
Rich, Learning Experience for Young Leaders

60 girls, majority from Navsari (D.D. Girls Highschool & Sanskar Bharti School) with couple of girls from Vadodara took part in Oasis Life Camp organized during 21-23 April at Oasis Valleys. The camp was facilitated by Hiral Patel with Purvi Naik & Nikita Patel as co-facilitators.

It was a life changing experience for some of the girls while majority of girls were deeply moved by the camp processes.

The whole credit of the camp goes to the Young Cadre of Oasis who had taken up a challenge to organize a life camp at Oasis Valleys. We would like to congratulate them as they did everything from registration to management to assisting the facilitators. The team members were Arth Naik, Bhumika Kumavat, Disha Pandya, Falguni Mistry, Farooq Pathan, Fatema Rangrej, Hasmita Parmar, Hiral Soni, Jayesh Chauthani, Karishma Bhatia, Khushi Aahir, Lay Naik & Tasnim Bharmal. They all found the experience fantastic & very rich in learning.

The 3rd Batch of Dist. Level Organisers Of HCJ Movement
Had Their First Workshop Of Oasis L3 Course At Oasis Valleys

During 21st to 23rd April, a special Oasis L3 Workshop was organized for the Dist. level organizers who wish to be part of "Hun Chhu Jyotirdhar" Abhiyaan. 22 Principals, School Authorities & Well-experienced Teachers coming from all around the Gujarat State, participated in this workshop which was organized at Oasis Valleys. At the end, founders of the movement, Mahadevbhai Desai & Sanjiv Shah along with Dr. Kaushik Desai, Dr. Atul Unagar & Sheeba Nair had dialogue with the participants about the vision of the movement and the role of each organizer.

The Young Oasisian, Hiral Soni, is seen sharing her story of transformation after joining Oasis, during the workshop. The well-experienced, veterans were touched by her story. Sheeba Nair of Oasis facilitated the 3-day workshop.

The 1st Batch of L3 Course at Oasis Valleys is Going Through 3rd Year
Which is Learning Through Practicing 'Integrity'

Second workshop of the Diploma year of Oasis L3 Course (batch Year 2012-15) was organized at Oasis Valleys during 3-6 April, which was facilitated by Sanjiv Shah & Sheeba Nair. The diploma year is 3rd year in 4-year L3 course. It is also known as year of Practicing Integrity.

ભગિની સમાજના સંચાલકોએ ડૉ. નેહાને સન્માનિત કરતી વેળાએ એમના કાર્યની સરાહના કરતા કહ્યું કે,

“આજના આપણા ગેસ્ટ ઑફ ઑનર નેહાબેન વખારીયા વ્યવસાયે એક ડૉક્ટર છે પરંતુ ખૂબ નાની વયથી તેમનામાં સેવાના ક્ષેત્રે સક્રિય થવા માટેનો તલસાટ હતો. શરૂઆતમાં તેઓ પોતાની શારીરિક વ્યાધિ સામે ઝઝૂમતા રહ્યાં. એવામાં તેમને લગ્ન બાદ બેંગલોર રહેવા આવવાનું થયું. મધર ટેરેસાને પોતાના આદર્શ માનતા નેહાબેને સમાજક્ષેત્રે ઝંપલાવવા માટે આ તક ઝડપી લીધી. તેમણે સ્લમ વિસ્તારમાં નિઃશુલ્ક હેલ્થ સેન્ટર્સની શરૂઆત કરી. તેમણે ત્યાં નોંધ્યું કે દરદીઓ ફરીને ફરી એક જ પ્રકારની ફરિયાદ લઈને આવતા હતા એટલે તેમણે આશા-ASHA(Adolescent Students' Health Alternative)ની સ્થાપના કરી. ત્યાં તેમણે તરુણ વયનાં બાળકો, ખાસ કરીને બાળકીઓને તેમની શાળામાં જઈને સ્વચ્છતા અંગે પ્રશિક્ષિત કર્યા. બાળકીઓમાં સ્વચ્છતા અને પોષણના અભાવે કૃમિનો ઉપદ્રવ અને લોહીની કમી રહેતી, જે આગળ જતાં ૫૦% બાળકીઓમાં નાની વયે પ્રસૂતિ સમયે મૃત્યુમાં પરિણમતી હતી. તેમણે આપણી ગૃહિણીઓને ફાજલ સમયમાં આ ભગીરથ કાર્યમાં જોડાવા માટે ઇજન આપ્યું. તેમને કાર્યશૈલીથી પ્રશિક્ષિત કર્યા. આજે ઓએસિસ એવી સંસ્થા છે કે જે માટે બેંગલોરનો સમસ્ત ગુજરાતી સમાજ ગૌરવ અનુભવી શકે છે.

નેહાબેન ત્રણ નિઃશુલ્ક હેલ્થ સર્વિસ સેન્ટર્સ છેલ્લાં ૭ વર્ષથી ચલાવી રહ્યાં છે- કોરમંગલા, મડીવાલા અને જીવનબીમાનગર; અને તેમણે ૨૧,૪૨૭ દરદીઓને ત્યાં ટ્રીટમેન્ટ આપી છે. આશાના ઉપક્રમે તેમણે ગત ૧૦ વર્ષમાં ૪૦,૦૦૦ બાળકો માટે શિબિરોનું આયોજન કર્યું છે. તેમણે ૨૪૭ સ્કૂલોમાં પોતાના પ્રશિક્ષિત ૩૭૦ વોલન્ટીયર્સને જોડ્યા છે. પ્રસ્તુત એક વર્ષમાં તેમણે ૩૦ મહિલાઓ અને ૨૦ યુવાનોને આ અભિયાનમાં જોડ્યા છે. તેમનું કાર્યક્ષેત્ર બેંગલોરથી કોઇમ્બતૂર, મૈસૂર, હોસુર અને વડોદરા સુધી વિસ્તાર પામ્યું છે. ભગિની સમાજનું પ્રથમ ધ્યેય સેવા હોવાથી આજના આ સુવર્ણ જયંતિ ઉજવણી પ્રસંગે ડૉ. નેહા વખારીયાને સેવા ક્ષેત્રે તેમણે આપેલ અદ્ભુત યોગદાન માટે હર્ષપૂર્વક આ સેવા-પુરસ્કાર પ્રદાન કરીએ છીએ.”
