Oasis started as a small group of youths way back in 1989. This issue shares reflections from some of those friends who played different roles in the initial years of Oasis. We are very grateful for the continual love, positive support, and precious unforgettable contributions of these wonderful friends.
ઓએસિસ સામુહિક નિવૃત્તિના નિર્ણયથી પ્રગતિ જ કરશે
ઓએસિસ સાથે હું 1992થી જોડાયેલો છું, સક્રિય કાર્યકર તરીકે 1998 સુધી અને ત્યારબાદ પણ ભાવનાત્મક રીતે જોડાયેલો રહ્યો. ઓએસિસે જીવનમાં ઘણું આપ્યું અને એ ભાથું અને મિત્રો આગળ જીવનમાં સાથે જ રહ્યાં. વર્તમાન ઓએસિસના નેતૃત્વ પરિવર્તન માટે એટલું જ કહી શકાય કે, ઓએસિસે તબક્કાવાર સતત નેતૃત્વ પરિવર્તન જોયેલું, અનુભવેલું અને અમલમાં મૂકેલું છે અને ઇતિહાસ ગવાહ છે કે સંસ્થાએ ઉત્તરોત્તર પ્રગતિ જ કરી છે.
એટલે જ વિશ્વાસ છે કે સંસ્થાના અત્યારના સામૂહિક નિવૃત્તિના નિર્ણયથી પણ પ્રગતિ જ કરશે. કારણ કે આ પ્રકારના પરિવર્તન અને પ્રયોગ કારગત રહ્યા છે, એ સંજીવ શાહના નેતૃત્વમાં સાબિત થઇ ચૂક્યું છે. નવું નેતૃત્વ સંસ્થાને વધુ ઊંચા શિખર સર કરાવે એવી શુભેચ્છાઓ સહ...
It is definitely a great decision on the part of founding members to step down creating the space and right environment for the new people to step in and bring some fresh air. At the same time, creating space for themselves to pursue the long term vision and expansion of the Oasis.
It is not stepping down but in fact stepping up into higher responsibilities. This is a welcome move—a natural evolution while the organization transitions into a movement.
The success of transition will require a lot of letting go and is a delicate process. I believe that the founding leaders of Oasis are ready for this. You guys are a terrific bunch of learning and inspiring leaders!

Oasis સાથેના સંપર્કનો શરૂઆતનો ૧૦-૧૨ વર્ષોનો ગાળો મારા અંગત જીવન માટે પ્રેરણાત્મક અને માર્ગદર્શક રહ્યો. અંત:કરણથી ધન્યવાદ, ઓએસિસ!
ઓએસિસ માટે ધન્યવાદ શબ્દ પણ નાનો પડે... તે માટે આ કૃતજ્ઞતાની અનુભૂતિ કે અભિવ્યકિત એટલે જ "જે શીખ્યા ને સમજ્યા તે જીવવા મથતા રહેવું" લગભગ વીસ વર્ષ દરમ્યાન ઓએસિસ સાથે કરેલી તમામ પ્રવૃત્તિઓમાં નેતૃત્વની ચુનૌતી મોખરે રહી અને તે થકી જીવન ઘડતરનું આ અમૂલ્ય શિક્ષણ હોકાયંત્ર બનીને સતત માર્ગદર્શન આપતું જ રહે છે. તે માટે સંજીવભાઈ અને મિત્રોનો અંત:કરણથી આભાર.
ઓએસિસે હંમેશાં નેતૃત્વની જવાબદારી લેવાને કે આપવાને પ્રાધાન્ય આપ્યું. જેની સાથે વ્યક્તિમાં કાયમી અને સકારાત્મક પરિવર્તન આવે અને પોતે જ એક ઉદાહરણ બની જાય જેમાંથી પ્રેરણા લઈને અન્યો પણ એ રસ્તે ચાલી નીકળે. આ રીતે જ ઉદાહરણ બનીને સંજીવભાઈ અને મિત્રોનું આગામી પેઢીને તૈયાર કરી, તેમાં વિશ્વાસ મૂકી અને જીવની જેમ જતન કરેલ ઓએસિસની ધરોહરને સોંપવાનું કાર્ય ખૂબ વંદનીય છે.

ઓએસિસ માટે નવી ચારિત્ર્યવાન પેઢી તૈયાર છે
આપ સૌએ યોગ્ય સમયે યોગ્ય નિર્ણય લેવાની ક્ષમતા અનુભવથી કેળવેલ છે. ઓએસિસના મારા ઉમદા મિત્રોની integrity અદ્દભુત છે. ૩૦ વર્ષોથી સતત અનુભવો અને કસોટીઓમાંથી ઘડાઈને આ મુકામે પહોંચ્યા છે. આ યાત્રાનો સાક્ષી અને સાથી રહ્યાનો મને આનંદ અને ગર્વ છે. તેથી જ જ્યારે આ નિર્ણય વિશે જાણ્યું ત્યારે નવાઈ ન લાગી. જે કદાચ બધા કરી શકે, પરંતુ કોઈ કરે નહીં તેવા તમામ સાહસો મારા આ મિત્રો માટે સહજ છે. ખૂબ જ આકરી મહેનત, કઠોર પરિશ્રમ, અનેક આંતરિક અને બાહ્ય સંઘર્ષો બાદ વિકસેલ આ સંસ્થા માટે નવી ચારિત્ર્યવાન પેઢી તૈયાર છે.
નવી પેઢી આ હાથો નીચે ઘડાઈ છે. ઉંમર નાની છે. પરંતુ સ્વપ્ના વિશાળ છે. લક્ષ્ય નજર સમક્ષ છે. તેથી આવતા વર્ષોમાં તેમની પૂરેપૂરી શક્તિ અને ક્ષમતાથી મૂલ્ય આધારિત શિક્ષણ અને સમાજના નિર્માણ માટે કાર્ય કરી શકશે. નવયુવાનોની ધગશ અને મૂલ્યનિષ્ઠા મેં જોઈ છે. એમના હૃદય શુદ્ધ છે. જોશ અને લગન અદ્દભુત છે. એમના માર્ગ, પ્રશ્નો અને પડકારો અલગ હોઈ શકે છે પરંતુ સિદ્ધાંતોનું પાલન કરીને હિંમતપૂર્વક લક્ષ્ય પ્રાપ્ત કરવાની ભાવના તેઓમાં છે.
મારા મિત્રોના નિર્ણયનું હું સમ્માન કરું છું. તમામ મિત્રોને નવી યાત્રાના પ્રારંભે શુભકામનાઓ આપું છું. હંમેશની માફક હું તમારી સાથે જ છું. વિકાસની આ યાત્રમાં સહભાગી બનવાની ઈચ્છા છે. કોઈપણ કાર્યમાં જોડાઈ શકીશ કે યોગદાન આપી શકીશ તો આભારી રહીશ.

Oasis is One of the Best Youth Movements
Oasis Movement is one of the best youth movements which has organized and channelized youths, ideas, and energy in a meaningful direction. I joined Oasis way back in 1994, the journey was excellent, making many superb friends having super energetic thoughts.
I sincerely appreciate the present Trustees for their courage and thought of handing over the baton.

New Torchbearers will Continue with Increased Strength and Vigour
Personally, as the one whose life has taken a transformative turn due to the enriching experiences in the early years at Oasis, I can say with conviction that the strong character building blocks laid with the help of friends at Oasis and lessons learned at youth events at M.S University have helped to build my life strong and tall with lesser regrets.
I am sure you have ignited innumerable minds to grow and become a positive force in society and the new torch-bearers will continue the developmental activities with increased Strength and Vigour.

This Decision is a Live Example
Oasis has been a trendsetter and this decision of yours is another live example. While it's ok that you withdraw, Oasis is an NGO working selflessly for the development and upliftment of society. So for an Oasisian there is no need to retire as such.
My suggestions- Ensure that replacement of key persons is equally competent. Founder members should continue on-board and be available to the young brigade when required.
You all have put your heart and soul to bring Oasis where it is standing today. My very best wishes to you all.
My contact with Oasis has made deep impressions on me. I saw the founder team's dedication to national service, character development, and selfless cooperation. Balancing so many stakeholders is not for the faint of heart, and you proved yourselves again and again.
As an American-born kid of Indian origin, I found in you and the founder team direct proof that ideals can be reconciled with direct engagement with life. My visits to Vadodara were always enriched by the open arms of Sanjivbhai and so many other “Mitro.” What a special quality of love and learning you have there at Oasis! May the torch you lit continue to illuminate us in the hands of the next generation.
