Nature Inspires To Bring Out The Best Hidden Within...

“ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ” જોઈને મને થયું કે જો મારે અહિયાં જ રહેવાનું હોય તો ખૂબ મજા આવે

As part of their Life Class, the students of Shri C A Patel Learning Institute (Mota Fofalia, Dist. Vadodara) visited “Oasis Valleys” on 27th & 28th of January. They learned about Nature, animals & birds, Bio-diversity, various trees & plants, Organic Agriculture, cattle rearing, earthworms & vermi-compost, etc from Mehul Panchal. They also learned about basics of trekking in hilly area & in a jungle, team co-ordination, sharing with friends; thus, they got a glimpse of the Oasis Summer Camps planned this summer.

Reflections by students :

કુદરતની બનાવેલી વસ્તુઓને કદી પણ નુકશાન નહીં કરીએ

“આજે અમને (ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ પર) ખૂબ જ મજા આવી. અહીં સજીવ ખેતી કરવામાં આવે છે. અહીં ઘણા પંખીઓ આવે છે. અમે પાંચ મિનીટ મૌન પાળ્યું ત્યારે અમને પંખીઓના અલગ અલગ અવાજ સંભળાયા. અમે ભેખડો ઉતર્યા અને ભેખડો ચઢ્યા. શાહુડી જેવા પ્રાણીઓના દર જોયાં. અમે ખૂબ જ સરસ મકાન જોયું. અહીંનું પર્યાવરણ ખૂબ શુધ્ધ છે. આજથી અમે નક્કી કરીએ છીએ કે અમે ઝાડ વાવશું. કોઈ ઝાડને કાપીએ નહીં. કુદરતની બનાવેલી વસ્તુઓને કદી પણ નુકશાન નહીં કરીએ.”

એક વખત હું પડી પણ ગઈ, છતાં મે હાર ના માની

“આજના પ્રવાસમાંથી અમે જંગલમાં કેવી રીતે ટ્રેકિંગ કરવું એ શીખ્યા. ટ્રેકિંગ કરવાની ખૂબ જ મજા આવી. ટ્રેકિંગ કરતાં એક વખત હું પડી પણ ગઈ, છતાં મે હાર ના માની. મેં કોઈ દિવસ આ પ્રકારનું ટ્રેકિંગ કર્યું ન હતું. મને અલગ અલગ વૃક્ષો જોવાનું ખૂબ ગમ્યું - લીમડો, આંબો, સીતાફળ, રામફળ, ખીજડો, ચંદન, ચીકુ, વિ. વિવિધ ઔષધીય વનસ્પતિઓ જોઈને હું ખુશ થઇ. પહાડી અને વાંકા-ચૂકા રસ્તાઓ પર ચડવાની અને ઉતારવાની ઘણી મજા આવી.”

મને ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ ખૂબ ગમ્યું

“મને આજના પ્રોગ્રામમાં ખૂબ મજા આવી. ટ્રેકિંગ કરતી વખતે અનુભવ થયો કે સેલ્ફ કોન્ફીડેન્સ હંમેશા રાખવો જોઈએ. શીખવા મળ્યું કે જયારે પણ ખેતી કરીએ ત્યારે સજીવ ખેતી કરવી જોઈએ. તેમાં સજીવ ખાતરનો જ ઉપયોગ કરવો જોઈએ. વૃક્ષોનું મહત્વ સમજ્યા અને ઔષધિઓ માનવીને કેટલી ઉપયોગી છે તે વિશે માહિતી મળી. વરસાદના પાણીથી થતા ધોવાણ અટકાવવાના ઉપાયો શીખ્યા. જયારે શાંતિથી બેઠાં ત્યારે વિવિધ પશુપક્ષીઓના અવાજ સાંભળવા મળ્યા. મને ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ ખૂબ ગમ્યું.”

When we plan we should think of future

“We saw many plants today which were very useful. It is a forest with 4200 trees and more than 115 varieties of trees. With their experience I leant that we should never give up. We should do our best to achieve our goal.

Training center building planning is very good. I learnt that when we plan we should think of future. ”

મારા મિત્રો સાથે મસ્તી કરવાની પણ મજા આવી

“ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ પર આજે મને બધું શીખવાની બહુ મજા આવી. મને થાય છે કે અહિયાં જ રહેવાનું હોય અને રોજ ટ્રેકિંગ કરવાનું હોય તો ખૂબ મજા આવે. મને મારા મિત્રો સાથે મસ્તી કરવાની પણ મજા આવી. દર વખતે આવું ટ્રેકિંગ કરવાનું હોય તો? મને ટ્રેનીંગ સેન્ટર પણ ખૂબ ગમ્યું.”

It was an unforgettable experience

“While trekking at Oasis Valleys we saw Gau-sneh-shala, vermin-compost, banana plantations, check-dams, sunset point, bamboo fencing etc. We also saw Cashew nut and Chandan trees. At one point we remained silent to hear the different sounds of birds. The place is full of adventures as well as full of peace and pure atmosphere. It was an unforgettable experience.”

It’s spring time at Oasis and every activity of Movement is getting ready to bloom!

LIFE Classes will finish their first academic year with the start of exams at schools. Now it’s time to plan grand Summer Camps for the children.

Oasis Valleys Institute building is gearing to finish 1st phase of construction. With interiors to be ready, we hope to start the institute with the start of the next academic year, i.e. by June mid.

Oasis Organic Farming movement has also picked up the speed and results will be seen with the onset of monsoon.

On 22nd January, 35 students of Zydus School of excellence, Amdavad, visited Manav Sadhana, an NGO at Ahmedabad working for the underprivileged children. It was a heartwarming interaction for each student who couldnt stop appreciating the beautiful products created by the little children and ended up playing with them for a long time. They also visited the Blind People's Association. They were exposed to the Braille technology and students sensitively witnessed the ingenius talents and competencies of the visually-challenged students there. (see Photo News)

24 farmers attended the first meeting of Organic Farmers, on 25th January at Oasis Valleys. An informal Organic Famers' Club called "સજીવ મિત્ર" was launched and Organic farmers started becoming members in it. After efforts put in by Oasis for last one & half years, some 30 farmers are now ready to start Organic Farming from this monsoon. Target is to take this figure to 100 by this year end. With the change in leadership at Oasis Trust, the new trust board is as under:

ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ્ને જોતાં અદ્ભૂત લાગે છે. મારું સ્વપ્ન અહીં દૃશ્યમાન થયું. ખૂબ આનંદ થયો. બાળકોને તરૂની જેમ ઉછેરવાનું કાર્ય પણ કરી રહ્યાં છો. રાષ્ટ્ર પ્રત્યેનો સર્વાંગી વિકાસ કરવાની આપણી ભાવના જરૂર મૂર્તિમંત થશે.
