Glimpses of Oasis Summer Camp. Every moment is full of joy and learning. |

After a year of conducting Oasis Life Classes, the Basic Summer Camp on Leadership for the participants was organized from May 26-28th. Students from 8th-11th standards were selected/elected through voting processes by their classmates to represent their school at this camp. In all around 25 girls & boys from different schools across Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Vadodara were chosen to attend this residential camp organized at Oasis co-ordination centre at Vadodara. The 3 days, though brief, were filled with a variety of individual learning processes interspersed with movies, field visits and group presentations. They also got opportunity to work on their leadership abilities when they took on responsibilities be it cleanliness or timekeeping or management disciplines or be it group assignments. They shared their dreams and goals, they explored their strengths and talents, they sang songs and confidently displayed their skills, and they also dared to share their pains and their flaws. They now eagerly await the next leadership camps to be organized at Oasis Valleys campus post monsoon. This camp was conducted by Sheeba Nair, one of the key facilitators of Oasis Life Classes. |

સમર કેમ્પના અનુભવો : ` |

હું શું છું અને શું બનીશ હું ખૂબ આળસુ છું પણ હવે આળસ છોડીને વધુ એક્ટીવ બનીશ. મને ડાન્સનો બહુ શોખ છે અને હું ડાન્સ પણ સારો કરું છું અને કરીશ. હું બિન્દાસ છોકરી છું. હું કોઈ પણ વસ્તુ કે વાતનું ટેન્શન નથી લેતી. પણ કોઈ ખોટું કરે તો સહન નથી કરી શકતી. મને ખોટા લોકો સામે લડવું ગમે છે. હું કોઈ વસ્તુ વાંચીને અને સમજીને ગોખ્યા વગર એકદમ સારું પ્રેઝન્ટેશન કરી શકું છું. હું મારી રીતે જ બધાને સમજાવું છું. મારાથી કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિને દુઃખ પહોંચે તેવું કરતી નથી. અન્યોને મદદ કરવા માટે તત્પર રહેવું મને ખૂબ ગમે છે. ~ ચાર્મી રાજવીર
એક સારા દેશપ્રેમી થવું. ગરીબ લોકીની મદદ કરવી. એક મહિલા મંડળ રચવું. બેટી બચાવો વિષે લોકોને જાગૃત કરવા. એક સારા શિક્ષક કેવી રીતે બનાય તેની માહિતી મેળવવી. સારા સ્વાસ્થ્ય અને શારીરિક તંદુરસ્તી માટે યોગાસનો, સૂર્યનમસ્કાર વગેરે શીખવા. જિંદગી વિષે જાણકારી મેળવવી. ~ કોમલ રામાણી |
ફિલ્મમાંથી શું શીખ્યા? “મહેંક મિર્ઝા” એક એવું પાત્ર છે જે ખૂબ જ સ્વપ્નાઓ જુએ છે – આગળ વધવાના અને કંઇક કરવાના. તે દરેક બાબતમાં હારતી હોવા છતાં પોતાના સ્વપ્ના જોવાનું છોડતી નથી. સ્વપ્નાઓ જોવાનો થોડો ડર લાગે છે પણ પછી તે અનેક પ્રશ્નો દ્વારા તેના ડરને મારી નાખે છે. આ ફિલ્મ દ્વારા આપણે શીખવું જોઈએ કે કંઇક બનવા માટે સ્વપ્ના જરૂરી છે. જીવનમાં શું બનવું અને શું ધ્યેય રાખવો તે મહત્વની બાબત છે. અને તેના માટે હાર કદી ન માનવી. “મહેંક મિર્ઝા”ના જીવનમાં “ડર જૈસા શબ્દ મેરી ડીક્ષનરી મેં હી નહીં” તે (વિચાર) ઉમદા છે. ~ તસ્નીમ ભારમલ
“કભી પાસ, કભી ફેલ” ફિલ્મમાંથી શીખવા મળે છે કે આપણે પૈસા કમાવવા માટે જાતે (ખૂબ) મહેનત કરવી જોઈએ. દરેકે દરેક માણસમાં કોઈ ને કોઈ ખૂબી હોય જ છે. ફક્ત માણસ પ્રત્યે જ નહીં, પશુ-પક્ષીઓ પ્રત્યે પણ પ્રેમભાવ રાખવો જોઈએ. કોઈ મુસીબતમાં હોય તો તેને મદદ કરવી જોઈ. જે કાર્યમાં આપણને આનંદ મળતો હોય તે આપણે પૂરું કરવું જ જોઈએ. ~ કોમલ, તૃષ્ટિ, હેમાલી, આકાશ |
ઓએસિસ વેલીઝની મુલાકાતે ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ એક અદભૂત જગ્યા છે. સજીવ ખેતી એ પણ અદભૂત ખેતી છે. જંતુનાશક દવાઓ વાપરવાથી જમીનને, જીવજંતુને તથા પાક અને માણસને નુકશાન થાય છે. માણસની જેમ અન્ય સજીવો પણ ધરતી ઉપર છે. જેમની પ્રત્યે અનુકંપા દાખવવી અને તેમને નુકશાન ન કરવું એ આપણી ફરજ છે. ઓએસિસ વેલીઝ પર જઈને હું ખાસ એ શીખી છું કે દરેક જીવ આપણા માટે ઘણો ઉપયોગી છે. તેમને નુકશાન પહોંચાડવું એનો મતલબ કે આપણને જ નુકશાન થવું. માટે કોઈપણ રીતે આપણી પૃથ્વીનું નિવસન તંત્ર ખોરવાઈ ન જાય તેનું ખાસ ધ્યાન રાખવું જ રહ્યું. ત્યાનું કુદરતી વાતાવરણ અને પંખીઓ, પશુઓ વચ્ચે રહેવું એ એક અદભૂત બાબત છે. પૃથ્વી પાસેથી જે લઈએ છીએ એ તેને પાછું આપવું એ એક સુંદર યોજના છે. આ બાબત મને ખૂબ ગમી. ~ હસ્મીતા પરમાર
મ્યુઝીયમની મુલાકાતે મ્યુઝીયમમાં રાખેલા પહેલાના જમાનાના શિલ્પો, કિમતી ચીજો જોવી ગમી. ત્યાંના પક્ષીઓના અને પ્રાણીઓના ચિત્રો તો અદભૂત હતા. આપણને ખબર જ ના પડે કે સાચા છે કે ખોટા. ત્યાંના હાથીદાંતમાંથી બનાવેલ શિલ્પો પણ બહુ જ સુંદર હતા. આવા મ્યુઝીયમની મુલાકાત આપણે આપણા જીવનમાં લેવી જોઈએ. ~ ડેનિશ ડોબરિયા |

Thank you for finding solutions to 'Climate Change' & 'Global Warming'. It is indeed commendable for all at OASIS for their efforts. Each human being on this earth contributes to these changes. The population of India has gone up by 300% since her independence in 1947. The world population is increasing by One Billion every 12 years. This growth is unsustainable. It leads to pollution, poverty, hunger, shortages of natural resources, illegal migration, etc. Pretty soon it will lead to wars for water. Unless everyone wakes up to and finds solution to population explosion - none of the other methods are going to work. ~ Arun Mehta |
