So much Positivity, Magic of Friendship Camp!

Ghar se masjid hai bahut door chalo yun kar le
Kisi rote hue bachche ko hansaya jae.
.

I understood the meaning of these lines in Oasis Friendship Camp. More than we taught to children, we learned from them.  We listened to their problems and we were stunned to know how they manage their problems! We were surprised that from where they get this much positivity! Isn’t it the magic of the Friendship Camp?! They were participating and enjoying every session such that we couldn’t believe they have so many problems in their life.
Their major takeaway is their own understanding of What is Right and What is Wrong which they learned in this camp. They learned to take a stand against the wrong. They learned how to speak up for themselves, and how to raise objections against what’s not right.

Lively and Friendly Environment inspires Transformations

I saw that the children are so excited! I realized that education doesn’t lie within the 4 walls of the classroom. These 4 walls can be prison walls. Our school environment is different. But when we give a lively & friendly environment in school, when Oasis comes to our rescue and does such camps, we see that true transformation is going to happen.

On very First Day children Opened up!

As a subject teacher, when I started my first session, within no time, they all started sharing their personal things with me. I was totally taken aback! On the very first day, without any connections! That happened only because of Oasis Camp.

I saw Remarkable Difference in children on last day

Camp values were nicely inculcated by children. I saw a wonderful thing - shy children opened up on the last day. They were lacking courage and they developed. Their thinking improved, and friendship flourished. I have learned values and I will impart them in my teaching now.

Reflections from Participants
I am so happy that I do not want to go home

We had not imagined living without our parents even for 2 days. On the first day, I did not feel good at all, and we had no mobiles to talk to our parents. But after that, I became so happy that I do not feel like going home. At home, I used to do what I liked. I used to sleep till late. I learned to get up early here and learned to exercise daily. I realized the value of family and learned to respect family members.
~ Absaara

I appeal to all youths of Kashmir to join Oasis Camps

In this camp, facilitators do not judge us. When we make mistakes, they do not get angry or beat us, they show us our mistakes with love and that’s the difference which makes us change our bad habits. Lots of youths in Kashmir are in depression, nowadays. I appeal to them to join Oasis Camps.

It was Life-changing factor

When I saw the form, I thought, what's this - no mobile, no Junk Food? How can we stay there? But then, when I joined the camp, Wow! The environment was so good and so adorable! I feel lucky to be part of it. We learned Moral Values, how to be independent, and how to think positively.
~ Adil Rathore

If every school becomes like this, our Education System will improve a lot

I have never worked at home. I got a chance to work here. And I felt great after doing some work. I observed myself and it felt like, my soul is changing from the inside. I saw where I was wrong. At home, every day there was only one routine - get up, eat, go to school, come home, play with your mobile, do homework and go to sleep. I did lots of activities here. Had great fun and learning, too. Here, we had freedom, we could learn what we wanted to learn.
~ Muhammad Zaid
Reflections from Parent
I think I did very well by allowing my daughter to join this camp

When my daughter showed the form that there is a 7-day camp, I said No. I had doubts. When we asked, the principal encouraged us to let her join saying that it will be life-changing for her and then I said Yes. Today I think I did very well. My girl has changed a lot. She cleaned the washroom at home today which she never used to do! She learned that from the camp. I am very happy. I am thinking that I should also join this program.
