The National Dream India Camp (DIC), a 14 day leadership special camp with 92 participants from Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Telangana & Gujarat was conducted from 8th-20th May 2023 at Oasis Valleys.

While many participants came independently, children from
8 NGOs from 4 states (Aashayen, Soch & Unmukt from Odisha, Gubbachi Foundation, Samriddhi Trust from Karnataka, Victoria Memorial Home & Residential School from Telangana and Navsarjan Trust & SEWA Rural from Gujarat) participated in this DIC.
"We achieved so many great things in DIC without studies!"

I realised that so many things are possible without the education system. Many are committing suicide due to their failure in education system. This camp should reach each & every child. Thank you Oasis for gifting me freedom of life!!

Before the camp I always thought that my dream was to earn a lot of money and live a comfortable life. In DIC I realised that I want to do something different, something big. Earning a lot of money should not be the main objective of life. The objective should be to change something or to influence countries or the whole world positively. After this camp I now want to live an adventurous life!

I was a girl who was always afraid, had no confidence to speak & never understood the difference between right and wrong. After coming here I got the understanding and courage that if in my heart I know what is right, I should stand for the truth no matter what. I leave DIC feeling strong & fearless to be myself.

Ordinarily, in schools & offices, it is the principals and the bosses that make the rules for everyone else to follow. Here in our Dream India there was no principal & no boss, every individual was equal. We made our own rules & followed them.

In the Parliament I came to know that mistakes are OK because every human makes them; it is not accepting our mistake that becomes a very big mistake! In DIC I got confidence to accept my mistakes because here for accepting mistakes we were always appreciated.

I loved attending all my sessions here. I was always on time for each session because here I felt very free and I loved being with everyone else.

I learnt what actual love is from my ‘What is True Love?’ session. I feel happy because I was so wrong, before coming here I was looking for a girlfriend but when I came here I realised that I am enough for myself. It is not a compulsion that I need anyone else to be happy. I will spread this awareness to all my friends after I reach my hometown.

~ Yaksh Patel, 14 years
In the Journalism session I learnt to question the status quo, to verify for myself if the so called society standard is true for me. Each time I attempted to answer these questions, something changed within me & I felt closer to myself. This education of knowing how to rightly lead my life that I learnt through DIC is more valuable than years of my schooling.

The star assembly was my most favourite. All our goodness was appreciated here, which increased our self confidence & encouraged us to walk on the right path.

Before DIC I was unaware about the importance of land in our lives. I thought that the resources we are getting from land are free! But when I came to DIC I understood that we need to pay back to mother earth for all its gifts. At first I thought that it was just work but then I understood that it’s not just labour it is ‘Labour of Love’.

My duty was in dorm maintenance & the first few days my eyes were always on the clock, waiting for duty time to end. Then I realised if I have unfinished work & time to finish it – why I am just uselessly sitting around? That day I cleaned the dorm at ease, working on every minute detail I saw & bhaiya who was guiding me gave me 10/10! I understood that the perfect rating was not for the work but for my hard work & Karamveer spirit!

~ Bhavy Shah, 16 years
I will remember and miss ‘our friendship’ the most after going back from this camp because, I have never experienced this kind of friendship and I think I will never experience this bond in my life except at Oasis Valleys.

~ Neel Soni, 16 years
Initially the first few days I used to ask my sister again and again how many more days we have to stay here, when can we go! Now I just don’t want to go from here.. I want to stay here forever & ever!
