The biggest thing I learnt from this camp is being responsible, I understood that each & every child can take their own responsibility if they get a chance.

~ Roshan, December 2023 Camp
Fondly known as 'Magic of Democracy in a week', this 7 day residential program is known for the wholistic transformation it brings in students & teachers alike. Oasis Dream India Camp, since its inception in 2012 has been a children favorite flagship Oasis Program.

Starting November 2023, 3 camps were conducted in Bangalore, Karnataka in collaboration with 7 organisations (Gubbachi Learning Community, Samruddhi Trust, Navsagyog, NavGurukul, Abalashram, Surana College, Rainbow Homes).

All the camps were organised & facilitated by Riya Shah (Oasis Young Team member) with local faculties participating from schools & organisations of Bangalore.
November 2023 Camp at Auroveda, Bangalore
December 2023 Camp at Regional Institute of Cooperative Management, Bangalore
May 2024 Camp at Shubham Karoti Maitreyi Gurukulam, Bangalore
Being in this camp for the first time taught me a lot of things, which I could never learn outside. This camp taught me to be confident, courageous, honest, friendly & most importantly - responsible. I am happy about that, because in the outside world there is no such thing that can teach me such things.

~ Yash Sharma, November 2023 Camp
I was really a very angry person who used to fight for every small thing and used to speak  bad words to everyone without any reason. But after coming here I have changed myself totally and learned how to control my anger & bad words. I have also learnt to use my time properly.

~ Imran, December 2023 Camp
Before coming to this camp, I was very short tempered and had no confidence to speak - I was scared to do everything. But now I can control my anger and now I have confidence to speak without any hesitation. Now I can solve problems myself without any difficulties and also find positive things in every difficult situation.

~ Banu, December 2023 Camp
I feel that I have changed a lot.  I learned how to communicate with others. I learned to be happy and I also don’t use bad words anymore. I feel proud of myself that I have got courage to say something in front of everyone. It was in real sense My Dream India Camp.

~Riya Moni, May 2024 Camp
I liked the Children’s Parliament system as in the outer world children do not get any opportunity to speak their opinion or stand for it but in the children’s parliament system we get this opportunity.

~ Manoj Nath, December 2023 Camp
The main reason why I loved the parliament was even if you are a teacher, you can be punished if you do something wrong. In DIC everyone is equal.

~ Riya Moni, May 2024 Camp
The first day when I came here, I was very upset thinking I have to make a  lot of adjustments here and with no good food. But I leant to control the cravings of junk food because they’re not good for us and I’ll say no to them even after leaving from here. When I was in my home, I was always on my Phone/T.V. and had no control over it but when I came here and survived 7 days without them I realized that they’re just our addictions.

~Piyali Das, December 2023 Camp

~ Samiya Khan, May 2024 Camp
From this camp, I have learnt that you can learn anything from anywhere and anyone. By being at this camp I realised how to accept something and also to adjust with whatever you have, and do everything on your own.

~ Komal Chaudhry, November 2023 Camp
I realized that sometimes we feel that children are blank slates and we have to feed information into them like a machine. But, as a facilitator or teacher, sometimes we need to take the back seat and allow them to work and think on their own. DIC actually puts children at the center of learning and caters to their needs, choices and empowers them to be independent learners.

~ Rohini Pandey, Teacher, Gubbachi Learning Community
My experience at Oasis Dream India Camp was profoundly eye-opening and transformative. This process goes beyond traditional teaching methods, offering children a platform to voice their opinions, make decisions, and understand the consequences of their actions. It fosters a sense of responsibility and self-awareness that is critical for their personal development. It instilled a sense of discipline that was self-driven, encouraging them to take ownership of their actions and their impact on others.

~ Srushti Patel,  Member, Nature Club
Being a part of the Oasis Dream India Camp has been a deeply humbling & meaningful journey for me. This camp is not just a program; it’s a living, breathing movement. Watching young minds open up to the possibilities of love, freedom, and friendship has been nothing short of inspiring.

The impact goes beyond the participants—it touches the hearts of the faculty and the communities we collaborate with.
What we’re building here is something truly special, something that has the power to transform education itself. It’s about creating an environment where true growth happens, where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered.

For me, stepping into the role of coordinating these camps is a way to contribute to a vision much larger than myself. It’s a commitment to a future where every child has the opportunity to experience this kind of transformative education. This is just the beginning, and I’m  excited to see where this journey takes us as we work together to make this dream a reality for communities across the country.

~ Riya Shah ( Chief Coordinator, Oasis Dream India Camp/ Oasis Young Team Member)
We express our heartfelt gratitude to  Preethyji, Soumyaji, Nomitaji (Gubbachi Learning Community), Ms. Mom Bannerji (Samriddhi Trust), Sheshaji (Abalashram) and Mary Dollyji (Navsahyog) for their committed & unwavering support through this process.  In a time when academics often take precedence, these organizations have chosen to also prioritize character-building education for children. By valuing and supporting this crucial aspect of growth, they have shown true dedication to the holistic development of the next generation. We are truly humbled to be associated with such compassionate partners.
I promise that I will not let all efforts of all Didi’s and Bhaiya’s go to waste. I will not tell you thank you, I promise that I will 'Pay-It-Forward' what I have learnt from this camp.

~ Vishal, December 2023 Camp
I have learnt about how to communicate with others and whatever the situation is, how to handle that. I have made so many friends here from different-different backgrounds that makes me happy. It does not matter about language barrier, it’s about heart to heart connection.

~ Anjali, November 2023 Camp
