Oasis Proudly Launched Oasis Nachiketa Awards in Gujarat
On 1st August 2024 at Vadodara (Vanijya Bhavan) 'Oasis Nachiketa Awards - Prize Distribution ceremony' was organised. 200+ Guests, including Teachers, Principals - HoIs, Parents and Students from various districts of Gujarat attended the event.
Total 45 students were awarded with a cash prize ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 17,000/, along with many other exciting prizes. (Note: Rs. 51,000/- Cash prize was divided amongst 3 students (Rs. 17,000 each) in first position).
Why Oasis Nachiketa Awards?
Oasis Movement, a nationally awarded character building organisation, initiated this project to identify and celebrate real young heroes & heroines reminiscent of Nachiketa in today's generation.
The competition aimed to discover dedicated youths committed to driving positive change in society & nation, by providing them with a platform to showcase & develop their potential.
Who Was Nachiketa?
The inspiring story of Nachiketa, a small 7-year old boy, is narrated in the Upanishads, one of the oldest and most revered Indian scriptures. He is said to be one of the first true notable seekers of life.
Nachiketa is modelled for his spirited rejection of material desires, which are ephemeral, all for his single-minded pursuit of the path of self-realisation.
Glimpses: Journey of Searching 'Nachiketas in Gujarat'
We touched 1000 schools in 22 districts of Gujarat, achieving the goals of Oasis Shahshtrashala project.
Young Team of Oasis embarked on the journey of finiding Nachiketas across Gujarat in March 2024. Approx. 400 students participated in this competition.

Final Leadership Examination Camp at Oasis Valleys
100+ Students were selected for last round of Nachiketa Awards. 80+ students from 17 districts of Gujarat attended the 7 days' Final Leadership Examination Camp from 25th to 31st July 2024 at Oasis Valleys Chanod, Gujarat.
To spot the right Nachiketa and to develop the leadership quality amongst theses 80 students, Oasis young team had done various process, sessions & activities.
