Power of Girls
While the world is progressing, the issue of gender bias is far from being resolved. And in India, it feels that the struggle has just begun. Girls, in India, face unprecedented discrimination in all walks of life. Given an equal opportunity, they can shine, and outshine. Oasis believes in empowering girls to take on the world, choose their own path, and decide their own destiny. Special effort is put behind guiding and mentoring all the girls to express themselves and break barriers.
At Oasis, there are a number of programs that are designed for girls. Saamarthya is one such project, meant to encourage and empower girls, and train them to excel in every aspect of life. Camps like Life Camp, Love Camp and Dream India Camp are organized for girls to be independent – financially, intellectually and emotionally. Oasis programs work around Gender Sensitization & Equality, Self Defence and Leadership skills, with an aim to nurture future women leaders!
Above all, be the heroine of your life,
not the victim.

Straight from the heart
“I have got new life and courage here. I learnt that no one can take our freedom from us. Here I started loving my self. I will not succumb to the problems of life.”
“I am happy that here I have learnt to stay alone, independently without my parents.”
“I realized that before woman, I am an independent human being. Here, I learnt that I also have the right to ask questions.”
“I never had known myself till date, which I did here. I got lots of love and I realized that I have lots of potetials hidden within me.”
“I liked atmosphere of Oasis very much. There was nobody here to tell us - You cannot do this. I understood that my life is my choice.”
“Lots of things learnt which injected new confidence in me. I got capacity to fight any problem. The courage has increased and I got my Goal.”
“My favourite session was - An Awesome Woman. In our village men are addicted and they beat their women. I can stop atrocities on women of my village and I will work very hard to stop it.”
“The most important thing I learnt in the camp is to stay positive in every situation and always look at the brighter side of life. I also learnt to know the value of embracing oneself by developing self-confidence.”
“The one thing that I found useful in the camp which I will use in my life every day will be to motivate myself, bring up my self-esteem, call myself, stay confident and never get bothered when people comment or pass judgment.”
“With the freedom at Oasis, I realized that traditions should change and evolve with generations. For girls, it is not easy to do that; it requires lots of efforts and courage. I got confidence that if I stand up with courage, nobody can defeat me.”
“My experience as facilitator was beyond imagination and overwhelming. I enjoyed Love, Independence & lots of Affirmation given to children. I could see transformation in children in short span of the camp. Given the opportunity with love, faith and guidance, children are capable of shouldering responsibilities.”
